Erdogan meets Tunisian PM

Prime Minister Erdogan of Turkey had a meeting with Beji Caid Essebsi, the prime minister of interim government in Tunisia.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday met Beji Caid Essebsi, the prime minister of interim government in Tunisia.

Interim prime minister of Tunisia welcomed Erdogan upon the latter’s arrival at the Prime Minister’s office in Tunis.

The two premiers had a tete-a-tete meeting before co-chairing a separate meeting between delegations from the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan and AK Party Deputy Chairman Omer Celik were also present at the meeting.

A Friendship and Cooperation Agreement is set to be signed and a joint press conference is scheduled following the meetings.

Erdogan arrived in Tunis, the second leg of a four-day tour to the Middle East and North Africa, after a two-day official visit to Egypt.
