President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended and delivered a speech at the AK Party Sinop Provincial Congress.
“WE BUILD UP A REPUTATION FOR TURKEY”
Stating “As we strive to develop our country in all spheres, we build up a reputation for Turkey,” President Erdoğan made the following remarks: “Turkey has successfully fulfilled every single responsibility that it has taken in the last 15 years. Turkey left its mark in every international organization over which it presided as a term president. We were selected as a member to the United Nations Security Council during the term of 2009-2010 and we became the voice of all the oppressed in the world. In 2015, we undertook the term presidency of G-20 which represents the top 20 most developed countries of the world, we defended growth and justice. We gained the appreciation of all countries thanks to the policies we developed within G-20 targeting the youth and the women.”
Underscoring that they have been striving to relieve the decades-old suffering of Muslims especially concerning the issue of Palestine, President Erdoğan emphasized that the OIC Extraordinary Summit convened in Istanbul on December 13 following a step that targeted Al-Quds was a turning point for the Islamic world. Drawing attention to the fact that the Islamic world protected Al-Quds through this Summit and declared to the whole world that Palestinians are never alone, President Erdoğan indicated that the unlawfulness of the decision of the US administration on Al-Quds was officially registered at the highest level with the historic voting that took place at the United Nations General Assembly.
“OUR DETERMINED STANCE CONCERNING AL-QUDS IS APPRECIATED ALL ACROSS THE GLOBE”
Indicating that with the support of its friends, brothers and sisters, Turkey scored a great diplomatic victory in a span of time as short as three weeks, President Erdoğan said: “We see that the staunch and determined stance of Turkey concerning the issue of Al-Quds is appreciated all across the globe. This evoked a strong feeling of affinity especially among the Muslims towards our country and our nation. From Indonesia to Malaysia, from Palestine to Sudan and Egypt, people hold limitless enthusiasm and excitement towards our nation.”
Referring to the diplomatic talks he has been holding concerning the issue of Al-Quds and stating that the talks are still underway, President Erdoğan announced that he shall be visiting France on Friday. President Erdoğan touched upon his latest visits to Sudan, Chad and Tunisia and stated that thousands of people welcomed him with enthusiasm and longing holding Turkish flags in their hands and with teary eyes.
“EYES LIGHT UP UPON HEARING THE NAME OF TURKEY”
Underlining that they have been trying to meet the expectation through the bilateral agreements that were ratified and through the speeches he delivered and that they shall begin to reap the benefits of the relations established with African countries in the upcoming years, President Erdoğan made the following remarks: “These regions are places which we neglected for years, on which we turned our backs, about which some constantly said ‘what are we doing here.’ There had never been any visits at the presidential level to countries such as Chad and Sudan with which we have had bonds for 5 centuries. Thank Allah, just as we reach out to every corner of our country, we also reach out to all our brothers and sisters abroad.”
Recalling that the number of Turkish Embassies in Africa which was 12 in 2009 now amounts to 41, that Africa-Turkey trade volume which was 5 billion dollars in 2003 now exceeds 23.5 billion dollars, President Erdoğan pointed out that the variety and volume of products exported to Africa grew exponentially and Turkish contractors carry out projects worth of billion dollars in many African countries and said “In places where nobody even knew the name of our country 10-15 years ago now eyes light up upon hearing the name of Turkey.”
