“I celebrate the anniversary of the Victory of Malazgirt, which opened Anatolia’s gates to our august nation and ensured that an understanding of unity, solidarity and brotherhood prevailed on these sacred lands.
Our ancestors, whose rule over Anatolia began following the Victory of Malazgirt, thereafter implemented the most beautiful practices and produced the most magnificent monuments of our centuries-long march.
The spirit of Malazgirt has always become a source of inspiration for our august nation despite the long years that have passed since.
The seeds that were sown in 1071 under the leadership of Sultan Alparslan, who went down in history as a just and merciful leader, flourished and spread to the entire world.
Having enabled the Victory of Malazgirt, which paved the way for a new era in our august nation’s history that is full of dignity, honor and victories, our shared ideals and commonalities also served as our biggest guide during the establishment of our Republic.
We, as the nation and the state, are today as well in a struggle to build our great, strong and prosperous future drawing on the inspiration we take from the Victory of Malazgirt.
With these thoughts, I remember great commander Sultan Alparslan and our august martyrs with gratitude on the 946th anniversary of the Victory of Malazgirt and wholeheartedly greet all of our citizens.”
