President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the AK Party Düzce Provincial Congress.
“AS TURKEY GROWS, SO DOES THE SCALE OF THE THREATS IT FACES”
Underlining that as Turkey grows, the scale of the threats against it grows as well, President Erdoğan said: “If we were to renounce all our claims and give up on all our goals standing idly by and consenting to anything we are told to do, believe me we wouldn’t face any of the troubles we are enduring now. However, then no one would hold us in esteem. We cannot do this. We can never accept being disregarded. As I always state, we have never bowed down to any mortal being. We only bow down while praying before Allah. Never, otherwise. We cannot remain silent or indifferent to injustice. A submissive attitude goes against our faith, our character and all the values we inherited from our ancestors. We also know that our people do absolutely not want us to adopt any such attitude. Therefore, we have never and will never give up on our struggle no matter how big the threats.”
“WE WILL IMPLEMENT MUCH GREATER PROJECTS”
Emphasizing that they worked very hard and made the best use of every single day and hour both at home and abroad throughout 2017, President Erdoğan stated that they endeavored to manage the crises they faced in a fashion that best served the interests of Turkey and the nation. Stressing that they not only dealt with crises but also vigorously pursued the investments and projects that were on their agenda, President Erdoğan reminded that Turkey ranked first worldwide in terms of growth figures in the third quarter of 2017, and added: “If Allah permits, we are entering 2018 with this power. We will work much harder. We will implement much greater projects. We will continue our path in line with our goals for 2023.”
“127 COUNTRIES LENT US SUPPORT IN OUR STRUGGLE FOR AL-QUDS”
Also touching upon the issue of Al-Quds in his speech, President Erdoğan underlined that the call he made as the OIC Summit Chair following the U.S. decision to recognize Al-Quds as Israel’s capital found broad response, with the efforts he exerted in collaboration with King Abdullah II of Jordan, the Term President of the Arab League, as well as with President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine resulting in the backing of 127 countries at the UN General Assembly.
VISIT TO MARTYRED POLICE CHIEF UFUK BAYSAN’S FAMILY
As part of his programme in the city, President Erdoğan also paid a visit to the family of Police Chief Ufuk Baysan, who died a martyr’s death in Ankara during the July 15 coup attempt that was staged in 2016 by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).
