President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the AK Party Istanbul Women Branches Neighborhood Heads Consultation and Assessment Meeting.

“Since day one, we as the AK Party have been exerting intense efforts to make sure women have a strong presence in every area. Through the regulations we have enacted from education to politics to social life to civil society, we have taken numerous steps to strengthen women’s status. By lifting the headscarf ban in public institutions, which was a sheer shame for our country, we have put an end to this oppression and this injustice,” President Erdoğan stated.
