“Türkiye is a country whose democracy is stronger than ever”
Speaking at an iftar dinner with former AK Party deputies, President Erdoğan said: “Even though some still persistently ignore, today, Türkiye, as a result of our collective efforts, is a richer, freer and more pluralistic country whose democracy is stronger than ever. Praise be to Allah, today, we are living in a country whose star shines increasingly more brightly.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech during an iftar dinner with former deputies and CEC members of the party in Ankara.
“WE WILL REALIZE OUR ‘CENTURY OF TÜRKİYE’ VISION THAT WILL PUT OUR STAMP ON THE CENTURY”
Noting that the AK Party has become a servant of the people without any discrimination since its inception, President Erdoğan, addressing the attendees, said: “With the support and prayers of our nation, we have overcome all the problems we have encountered in solidarity with you. We have always given the final word to the people, the ultimate decision maker. We have lifted the shadows from over democracy, the national will, and the rights and freedoms in solidarity with you. From the Gezi incidents to the 17-25 security-judiciary plot to the July 15 treason and coup attempt, we have repelled all the attacks targeting the will and future of the nation in solidarity with you. From education to transport, health to security, defense industry to judiciary, we have taken huge steps, each of which amounts to a major silent revolution, in solidarity with you. We have built a Türkiye where each and every member of our nation can freely express themselves as equal and honorable citizens of this state in solidarity with you. We have revived and greatly developed Türkiye in solidarity with you. Even though some still persistently ignore, today, Türkiye, as a result of our collective efforts, is a richer, freer and more pluralistic country whose democracy is stronger than ever. Praise be to Allah, today, we are living in a country whose star is shining increasingly more brightly. We have been walking this path—which we set out on with the belief that it is the path of Türkiye, the path of the nation, and which is built upon projects and services—for nearly 25 years with you. Inshallah, it will be once again with you that we will achieve our terror-free Türkiye goal, which will turn over a new leaf marked by brotherhood, peace and stability for both our country and our nation, and that we will realize our Century of Türkiye vision that will put our stamp on the century.”
“WE HAVE BEEN MAKING INTENSIVE EFFORTS TO ENSURE THE FINGERS ARE TAKEN OFF TRIGGERS”
President Erdoğan stated: “The intensity of the tremors that have already plunged our region into bloodshed and suffering has further increased with the attacks that began against our neighbor Iran on February 28. Believing that it can ensure its security by terrorizing the region, Israel is further intensifying its attacks in violation of the ceasefire which it already doesn’t honor on one hand, and has launched an invasion of Lebanon on the other. Our geography is gradually being dragged into a disaster at the hands of a murderous network carried away by the hubris syndrome. Even the Israeli people, who spend every night at shelters, openly state that Netanyahu is the greatest catastrophe for them after the Holocaust. The consequences of these tremors, growing increasingly stronger, are felt not only in our geography but also across the world in many areas from economy and trade to tourism and energy. Global economy are going through its most uncertain days following the Russia-Ukraine war. No one can foresee where exactly the world will swift if the war drags on. Let me first of all stress that we cannot regard others’ losses as our own win. We can never seek to derive benefit from others’ sufferings. Our stance on the Iran crisis is crystal clear. Türkiye always favors peace over war, diplomacy over conflicts, peace and stability over chaos and turmoil, rapprochement over antagonization. We want sufferings and conflicts to halt in our region, and peace to prevail. As Türkiye, we have been making intensive efforts to ensure the fingers are taken off triggers, ceasefire is reached, and a return to the negotiating table is secured. We are endeavoring to extinguish the fire before the flames grow stronger, the ring of fire further expands, more suffering is inflicted, and more blood is shed.”
