“We will uphold the spirit of Çanakkale until our last breath”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at an iftar dinner with the education community in Ankara.
“WE ARE MARKING THE 111TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ÇANAKKALE VICTORY WITH GREAT PRIDE”
“Today, we are marking the 111th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory with great pride. Exactly 111 years have passed since the Çanakkale Victory, one of the greatest scenes of heroism our homeland has ever witnessed,” President Erdoğan said. “We will uphold the spirit of Çanakkale until our last breath, and will never forget the sacrifices of those who rendered these lands home to us. On the 111th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, I remember with mercy all the heroes of independence, all our ghazis and martyrs, who bequeathed this heavenly homeland and entrusted this great Republic to us, and once again commemorate their cherished memory with profound respect.”
“WE HAVE ALLOCATED THE LION’S SHARE FROM THE BUDGET TO EDUCATION EVERY YEAR”
Stressing that the leverage that will carry Türkiye above the level of contemporary civilizations is an education system that is high-quality, national, and compatible with the spirit of the age, President Erdoğan stated: “Indeed, we have covered a very significant distance in this regard. We have introduced historic reforms despite all the attempts to hinder us. We have removed meaningless prohibitions and unjust practices. We have allocated the lion’s share from the budget to education every year. We have overhauled and re-arranged our curriculums and textbooks through a scientific perspective, clearing them of outmoded and tutelary elements. With the Education Model of the Century of Türkiye--which we have launched with the maxim, from the roots to the future--we have placed our efforts on a more comprehensive foundation. Delivering textbooks to our children for free right at the start of every education year, we save our families from shuttling between stationary stores. We have modernized our educational institutions by equipping them with sports halls, digital libraries, laboratories and smart boards. Appointing 821 thousand more teachers, we have further strengthened our education army. Along with appointments, we have also made significant ameliorations in the financial and social benefits for our teachers.”
