President Erdoğan: Turkey stands out as a shining star in every sphere of life

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks at Huber Villa in Istanbul following the meeting of the Presidential Cabinet held via video conference.

“WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE PEOPLE AND THE BUSINESSWORLD”

Underlining that the state, with all the means and resources at its disposal, stands with citizens that experience difficulties due to the measures taken to combat the pandemic, President Erdoğan said that Turkey will continue to support the people and the businessworld in the period ahead as well.

“The credit for our country’s exemplary position regarding the death toll as well as its success in curbing the pandemic goes to all of us as Turkey’s 83 million citizens,” underscored the President, offering gratitude for the heatlhcare professionals who selflessly worked throughout the pandemic period.

“TURKEY STANDS OUT AS A SHINING STAR IN EVERY SPHERE OF LIFE”

Without doubt, Turkey will amply retrieve as soon as possible what it has lost over the past 2.5 months, stressed President Erdoğan, and continued as follows: “As a matter of fact, there are already signs that Turkey will obtain a highly favourable place in the global system which is going through a political and economic restructuring. Turkey stands out as a shining star in every sphere of life from industry, technology, trade, agriculture, energy, transportation and healthcare to education, sports and defense industry. Not repeating the mistakes made previously in the aftermaths of the Second World War and the Cold War, we will, inshallah, ensure that the opportunites coming our country’s way will be seized this time.”

DAY-LONG CELEBRATIONS ON THE 567TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CONQUEST OF ISTANBUL

Also touching upon the celebrations set to be held tomorrow on the occasion of the 567th anniversary of the conquest of Istanbul, President Erdoğan said: “Firstly, we will inaugurate the 1,008-bed Prof. Dr. Feriha Öz Emergency Hospital, which we built in two months, in Sancaktepe. Later in the day, Conquest Cup Archery Competition will be held by the Okçular Vakfı (Archers’ Foundation). After that, Surah al-Fath will be recited and prayers will be said in Hagia Sophia as part of the Conquest Festival. We will all try to live our nation’s joy of conquest with these events. I hereby remember with respect all of our ghazis, martyrs and heroes – first and foremost Mehmet the Conqueror – who made these lands our home.”
