Ömer ÇELİK
Ömer Çelik was born on June 15, 1968 in Adana.
He is a political scientist.
He graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Public Administration. He completed his master’s degree in Political Science. He completed his PhD in Political Science and International Relations.
He served as Adana Deputy in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye in the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 26th terms. He was a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Turkish Delegation and the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Foreign Affairs Committee. He also served as the President of the Türkiye-USA Friendship Group.
He has served as a member of the Central Decision and Executive Committee for many times since the establishment of the AK Party. In 2010, he served as AK Party Deputy Chairman of Foreign Affairs, and in 2015, as Deputy Chairman of Publicity and Media and Party Spokesperson.
He served as Minister of Culture and Tourism in the 61st and 62nd governments, and as Minister of European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator in the 65th government.
With the congress held on August 18, 2018, he served as a member of the AK Party Central Decision and Executive Committee, and Central Executive Committee and also served as the Party Spokesperson.
At the AK Party congress held on March 24, 2021, he was elected as a member of Central Decision and Executive Committee, and Central Executive Committee and served as AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson.
He was elected as a member of Central Decision and Executive Committee, and Central Executive Committee at the AK Party extraordinary congress held on October 7, 2023. He currently serves as AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson.
